Skate Brandon Covid-19 Protocols

  • Participants, coaches, program staff, volunteers, or parents may not attend to the facility if they:
    • Exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms, such as a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or other symptoms identified by health experts. Please see the Government of Manitoba’s About COVID-19 page, The Symptoms of COVID-19 tab for the full list of symptoms
    • Have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days
    • Travelled outside of the province in the last 14 days – Please see the current Government of Manitoba Phase for regulations pertaining to travel within Canada
    • Travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days

RETURN TO PLAY PROTOCOL

The Keystone Centre has set forth the following rules to ensure the health and safety of our guests and
staff. We are incorporating this Return to Play Protocol that will continue to enhance the guest
experience and ensure safe participation in our facility. The health and safety of our employees and
guests is our number one priority.

All users must adhere to the most current Provincial health order and Keystone Centre protocols.
Deviation from the public health order of facility protocols may result in the group being asked to leave
the facility immediately and future ice rental privileges could be suspended indefinitely.

VACCINATIONS: Public access into the facility/arenas is restricted to the following:

a) Persons who produce proof that they are fully immunized;

b) Persons who produce proof of a Government issued medical exemption to not receive the COVID-19
vaccine;

c) Persons under 18 years of age.

FACE COVERING: Face masks must be worn at all times by everyone who enters the facility, excluding
those engaged in athletic activity. Masks are to be worn in the dressing rooms, but can be removed
while on the ice. Coaches who are not engaged in athletic activity are required to wear a mask/face
covering at all times, including while on the bench.

CAPACITY: All indoor group activities permitted with no capacity limits on participants. This includes
games, practices, competitions/tournaments, and day camps.

There is no limitation on the spectator capacity. Spectators must wear a mask at all times.

HEALTH SCREENING: The responsibility of completing self assessments for player and parents will be
with the teams dedicated Compliance Officer: https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/

Employees and guests are instructed to stay home if they do not feel well and are instructed to contact a
Manager if they notice a co-worker or guest experiencing any known symptoms of COVID-19.

HAND SANITIZER: Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the facility. Dispensers will be located at
entrance and exit points, as well as high-contact and high-traffic areas. When entering the facility all
patrons are required to utilize the hand sanitizer.

 


FACILITY MAINTENANCE & SANITIZATION: The Keystone Centre will be thoroughly cleaning the dressing
rooms following the completion of each day. Washrooms and common areas will be cleaned and
sanitized on a regular basis daily.

Users are responsible for cleaning dressing room before they depart to the extent of any garbage or
items brought in by the user group.

ARRIVAL: Entry/Exit to the facility will be through Entrance B (Brandon Curling Club Doors). All are
required to sanitize their hands upon entry. Participants are not permitted access to any areas of the
Keystone Centre until forty (40) minutes prior to the start of their session and must vacate the premises
within forty (40) minutes after the session has concluded.

Entry to the arena will be through the Flynn Arena doors where dressing room assignments are posted.

DEPARTURE: All attendees and participants must vacate the facility within the forty (40) minute time
period. Spectators are asked to vacate the arena immediately after the session unless a participant
requires assistance.

DRESSING ROOMS: There is no capacity limit in the dressing rooms. Each ice booking will be
allocated two dressing rooms. Groups must allow time for staff to disinfect the dressing rooms
between users where applicable.

Access to dressing room areas is limited to forty (40) minutes before and after your scheduled ice
time and you are asked to only use the area that you have been directed to.

Players/Coaches are required to wear a mask/face covering while in the dressing room.
Coaches are required to wear a mask/face covering at all times, including while on the bench.

  • Everyone is required to follow social distancing guidelines by standing or sitting at least 2 meters away from other people
  • Proof of vaccination and ID is required upon entry to the Keystone Centre.
  • Everyone is always required to wear a mask while in the facility, with the exception of participants when they are on the ice.
  • All Skate Brandon coaches, and program assistants are required to wear a mask at all times (even when on the ice).
  • Upon entering the facility, everyone is required to utilize the hand sanitizer provided by the facility.
  • Water fountains will not be accessible so all users must bring their own labeled, pre-filled water bottle.
  • Entry and exit will be through Entrance B (Curling Club doors).
  • Participants will not be able to enter the facility until fifteen (15) minutes prior to the start of their session and must vacate the premises within fifteen (15) minutes after the session has concluded.
  • Participants are required to come to the arena fully dressed for their session with the exception of helmets and skates.
  • At this time, we ask participants to limit their accompanied guests to ONE person while in the facility.
  • No standing at the glass at ice level or in the foyer will be permitted.
  • Washrooms will be available for users of the facility.
  • Access to the dressing rooms is limited to 9 players and 2 coaches per room.
  • The Keystone Centre has added additional open dressing room spaces. Please refer to dressing room assignment board for assignments.
  • We ask that you remain in your dressing room until the start of your session (no standing at the boards).
  • Everyone (coaches, skaters, volunteers, participants, officials, spectators, etc…) must sign the Skate Canada waiver prior to participating.
  • Each skater is to supply their own Kleenex – sharing is not permitted. Kleenex is to be disposed of immediately after used.
