Skate Brandon Coaches
Skate Brandon coaches are fully certified and are members in good standing with Skate Canada. Each professional coach is required to have a minimum NCCP Level 1, First Aid, and BackCheck - Police Clearance Check. Skate Brandon ensures all documents are in place prior to any session commencing each year.
Tammy McKay coaches Starskate, CompetitiveSkate, and Synchronized Skating. She has over 30 years coaching experience, NCCP Level 3 Certified, Partial Level 4, Respect in Sport Certified, Skate Canada Continuing Education Program - Gold Status, Manitoba Regional Seminar Clinician.
Laurie Bertholet coaches CompetitiveSkate. She has 31 years coaching experience, NCCP Level 3 Certified, Respect in Sport Certified, Skate Canada Continuing Education program - Gold Status, Manitoba Regional Seminar Clinician.
Tiffany Smith coaches StarSkate. She has 5 years coaching experience, is NCCP Level 1 Certifiied, Respect in Sport Certified, and is our Skate Brandon Coaches' Representative. Tiffany also has a Bachelor of Education Degree. She believes that Patience, Persistence, and Practice equals Positive Progress.
Kelly Walker coaches Starskate. She has 13 years coaching experience, is NCCP Level 2 Certified, Partial Level 3, Respect in Sport Certified, Skate Canada Continuing Education Program - Gold Status. She is also a Skate Manitoba Starskate Clinician. Kelly also has a Bachelor of Social Work degree that is beneficial to her coaching profession. Kelly's coaching philosophy is to help to develop the child as a whole. It is her belief that the role of a coach is not only to teach the sport specific skills but to also teach skills that will be applicable in every area of their life. She believes that as a coach, it is our responsibility to help our skaters realize their own potential and to have fun doing so!
Larissa Luptak coaches Canskate. She is a NCCP CanSkate Trained coach going into her second year as a Trained coach. Prior to this, Larissa was a Program Assistant with Skate Brandon since 2012. Larissa is looking forward to this season, meeting the new CanSkaters and seeing familiar faces back on the ice!!
Tyler Luptak coaches Canpowerskate. He is Canpowerskate Certified and will be entering his fourth season of coaching with Skate Brandon. Growing up playing hockey in Souris, he was enrolled in the Canpowerskate program for many years. His goal is for every participant to have the same positive experience with the program that he did.
Teddi Garvey coaches Competitiveskate.
Coaches from around the Province are invited to come and coach at our Spring and Summer Schools. Please contact the club for further details and requirements.
All coaches must provide their Coaching ID tags prior to coaching on club ice.
